The 2008 British Psychological Society Annual Conference is taking place in Dublin from Wednesday 2 April until Friday 4 April 2008.

The Annual Conference is a flagship event for psychology and features presentations involving internationally recognised scholars, as well as seven skills-based workshops.

250 high profile poster sessions, featuring new research, will be presented at the conference along with a series of award lectures and symposia covering nine key areas including:

- New media usage
- The effects of drug and alcohol use
- Activity levels and psychological health

There will also be six keynote speakers, including:

- Daniel Kahneman of the Princeton University, USA, who will talk about "Reflections on the science of wellbeing".
- William Yule of the Institute of Psychiatry, "Attention of self awareness".

Ian Robertson of Trinity College, Dublin, "Sex differences in human behaviour: What are their origins?"
