Dr. Matthew Narrett, the chief medical officer for Catonsville, MD, - based Erickson Health system, will discuss aspects of medical homes today at the 2008 Health Braintrust/National Minority Quality Forum Leadership Summit being held at The Ritz Carlton Hotel in Washington, D.C.

"Medical homes represent an approach rather than a location per se," said Narrett. "They are an important and effective way of eliminating the inequities that currently exist in our healthcare system.

"At Erickson Health, implementing this model of care has resulted in better outcomes delivered at lower cost with high patient and provider satisfaction," he said.

The Theme for this year's summit is "Health Equality and Justice Now!" The National Minority Quality Forum and the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc., in cooperation with the Congressional Black Caucus Health Braintrust, are collaborating on presenting this Leadership Summit, which will be attended by thousands of health care professionals.

During this year's Leadership Summit, numerous issues that are integral to health equity and the elimination of all health disparities will be explored and discussed.
