University Of Tennessee Medical Center Selects GE Healthcare It For Perioperative Solutions

GE Healthcare IT, a division of General Electric Company (NYSE: GE) and a leading provider of clinical, financial and administrative information technology solutions, announced today that it has signed an agreement with the University of Tennessee (UT) Medical Center. GE Healthcare IT will implement its Centricity® Perioperative Software Solution throughout the medical center that regionally serves East Tennessee, Southeast Kentucky and Western North Carolina.

"UT Medical Center prides itself on utilizing the latest technology and resources to provide the best patient care possible,"said Gary Scott, Vice President, Perioperative Services." We were looking for a complete Perioperative solution that provides ease-of-use, full documentation including the latest patient safety features as well the ability to manage our complex supply chain and through a thorough search, GE Healthcare provided the best product."

Utilizing the latest software available, UT Medical will install Centricity Perioperative version 7.5 across the organization's 26 - growing to 55 - operating rooms with the goal of complete documentation and comprehensive revenue cycle management. The Centricity solution will additionally support communications, data and workflow within pre-admission testing and throughout the Post Anesthesia Care Unit, including comprehensive resource management. Additional advantages of the latest version include integrated instrument set tracking, using Sterile Processing Manager, and Centricity Tracker, which provides patient visitors and families with real-time status updates while protecting patient confidentiality.
