China Medical Equipment Fair Spring 2008 Edition Features Two New National Pavilions

Reinforcing its strong international focus, the 59th edition of China Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF), Asia Pacific's largest medical device event, features two new national pavilions from Ireland and Malaysia, and a total of 10 national pavilions. Representing Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States, these pavilions bring a comprehensive portfolio of industry-leading medical equipment and technologies to show participants. Organized biannually by Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions Co. Ltd., a leading producer of medical and pharmaceutical events in China, the show is taking place April 18 - 21, 2008 at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center in Shenzhen, China.

The national pavilions showcase new and innovative technologies developed around the world, allowing participants to experience the global medical and healthcare marketplace at the show. The new pavilions provide attendees with access to the expanding medical device markets in Malaysia and Ireland. Malaysia is a world leader in surgical gloves and catheters, and Ireland is home to manufacturing plants of 13 of the world's top 25 medical device companies.

Extending almost 10,000 square meters of exhibition space, the show displays a wide range of products and technologies. These include imaging, surgical and emergency, diagnostics, critical patient care, electronics, optical, laboratory and clinical devices, and other healthcare products and services for hospital and medical institutes. Two thousand exhibitors from 17 countries and approximately 50,000 trade visitors from the medical and healthcare industries are participating in this year's event.

Combined with International Component Manufacturing & Design (ICMD) show, the co-located CMEF and ICMD shows span the entire value chain of the medical device manufacturing industry. They present international visitors with extensive business and networking opportunities to help them reach important decision makers in the Chinese medical device market.

CMEF Congress, as an important part of CMEF event, focuses on 4 aspects, including innovation & application of clinical technology, R&D, regulations, and industry development & marketing trends, which provide a comprehensive platform for business communication, academic research, and information exchange. CMEF Congress not only provides the latest information and trends, but it also integrates business with the latest technologies.

The quality of CMEF is also recognized by the industry. The CMEF show is the recipient of an "A-Class Exhibitions" title by the Ministry of Commerce and Federation of Consumer Products Trade Centre of All China Cities in July 2007. The CMEF show also received the Alibaba Goldfinger Award in the medical equipment category earlier this year.

CMEF takes place bi-annually in the spring and autumn. The Spring 2008 CMEF event is currently underway in Shenzhen, China from April 18-21, while the next event will be held 29 Oct - 1 Nov 2008 at Suzhou International Expo Centre, Suzhou, China, where the event will have its grand 60th edition Anniversary celebration.
