Article Date: 23 Apr 2008 - 2:00 PDT
Insurance broker Aon, in exclusive partnership with insurer Ecclesiastical, has launched Practicecare, an insurance policy designed to meet the specific needs of doctors in the UK.
The launch of Practicecare is a response to the increase of doctors in the UK over the last decade - there has been a 65.4% increase of consultant doctors and a 12% increase in NHS doctors during this time (Source: Royal College of General Practitioners).
Stand-out features of the policy include:
Cover for breakdown of equipment;
- Cover for contents, computers, buildings, legal liabilities, as well as walk in/walk out theft, bags and medical records;
- 24-hour 'Emergency Repair' helpline to give immediate access to a reliable quality contractor;
- 24-hour telephone claims service available 365 days a year - many claims are settled without filling in a claims form.
Angus Cameron, executive director of Aon's Professional Services Group commented: "We are delighted to have partnered with Ecclesiastical, one of the UK's leading specialist insurers, to launch this bespoke insurance scheme to doctors, which allows dentists to have complete peace of mind that the risks involved in running a surgery are covered. There are very few mainstream insurance policies on the market that will cover equipment breakdown and to combine this with a 24-hour repair hotline and easy-to-use claims service provides a compelling offer for all doctors' insurance needs."
