Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton dominated the South West Regional Health and Social Care Awards announced at a packed ceremony in Yeovil last week.

There were twelve awards up for grabs at the event, and over 200 projects had been nominated from organisations across the south west. Teams from Musgrove Park won the top prize in four categories, more than any other health or social care provider.

The winners were

- Sister Susan Wood from Sedgemoor Ward in the Leadership for Improvement category
- Children's Diabetes Education programme (MICKYS) in the People's Experience category
- Safer Patients Initiative Medicines Management Project for the Safety in Care Award
- The Hour to Save a Life Team for Innovative Information and Communications Technology Award

The four teams will now represent the South West at the National Health and Social Care Awards at Wembley Stadium on July 1st.

Chairman Ros Wyke said "This was a fantastic evening, which demonstrated that the excellent work done at Musgrove every day is recognised across the region. We are very proud not only of the winning teams who will now go forward for national recognition, but also the other nominees and every member of staff who do a superb job every day."
