Finding and hiring the right people to deliver quality care in an industry where the war for talent is fierce and job-hopping is common, is a primary challenge facing all long-term care providers. Increasingly, these organizations are turning to technology to give them an edge. Long-term care provider Extendicare Health Services has done just this, choosing selection and hiring solutions from Kronos® Incorporated to help attract and retain the best caregivers.

"What set Kronos apart were its behavioral assessments," said Loren Claypool, chief information officer, Extendicare. "Kronos' selection tools are designed specifically for the long-term care industry. We believe they will help us find and hire the best people to deliver the high-quality care that our residents deserve and have come to expect."

The Kronos solution, part of Kronos for Healthcare, will enable Extendicare to automate a hiring process that had been entirely manual and achieve consistency in hiring across all locations throughout the U.S., while still leaving room for flexibility as needed.

"When it comes to long-term care, hiring the right people is perhaps the most important decision a provider makes," said Steve Earl, director of marketing, Talent Management Division at Kronos. "With the right people, the quality of care increases and resident satisfaction rises. The Kronos solution provides long-term care organizations with the ability to select caregivers who have the proper attributes and behaviors required to be successful in these critical jobs, which ultimately makes them tremendous assets to their employers."
