Canadian Diabetes Association Thanks Our World-Class Volunteers

The Canadian Diabetes Association wants to send a sincere message to all of its volunteers in recognition of National Volunteer Week: thank you for doing a world of good in our community. The incredible contribution of our volunteers helps the Association set the world standard in diabetes care, while serving the over two million Canadians affected by the disease across the country.

"Our volunteers are essential to the work we do and we are grateful for the time the expertise they share with us and the communities we serve," said Lisa Diamond, Director, National Volunteer Program, Canadian Diabetes Association. "Their commitment benefits the millions of people living with diabetes across Canada and their efforts help to create healthy, thriving communities."

Thank you to our world-class volunteers. Our more than 20,000 volunteers speak, listen, and do the work that has made the Canadian Diabetes Association a leader in its field. Volunteers from coast to coast have helped to deliver community education programs to more than 78,000 Canadians, raised over $2.4 million through residential campaigns, and much more.

Volunteer positions at the Canadian Diabetes Association are endless. From advocating in your community to impact government initiatives, to assisting with registration at a Live Smart Diabetes Expo; each volunteer is an integral part of the ongoing fight against diabetes. Some of the volunteer opportunities available include: fund development through initiatives such as Team Diabetes and residential campaigns, and community outreach through public programs and services, community initiatives, administration and camps.
