The Texas Medical Association (TMA) and local physicians will announce the launch of a public awareness campaign. The initiative encourages patients to join with their doctors to fix the health care system. TMA, the nation's largest state medical association, has chosen the Wichita Falls area to launch its effort.

Wichita County Medical Society, 1301 Third Street, Wichita Falls

Susan Strate, MD, pathologist and TMA physician leader in several capacities including as member of TMA Council on Socioeconomics; and Gary Ozier, MD, family practice physician and Wichita County Medical Society president.
WHY:
Frustration is growing among physicians and their patients about our broken health care system. TMA has found through extensive research that physicians and patients are aligned strongly on this debate. TMA is the largest state medical society in the nation, representing more than 43,000 physician and medical student members. It is located in Austin and has 120 component county medical societies around the state. TMA's key objective since 1853 is to improve the health of all Texans.
