WHEN: Thursday, May 22, 2008, from 6-8 pm
WHERE: Luby's Cafeteria, 1801 Ninth St., in Wichita Falls
WHO: Josie Williams, MD, TMA president; Gary Ozier, MD, president, Wichita County Medical Society; and Texas state legislators and staff.
TMA is urging Wichita Falls residents to attend the Town Hall Meeting for Patients and Doctors. It will be a listening session with a purpose: Doctors want to hear patients' concerns and ideas so TMA can work to address these during the 2009 Texas legislative session, and in the United States Congress right now.
TMA wants people attending the meeting to answer three questions:
- What "one thing" do you like the most about today's health care system?
- If you could change one thing about today's health care system, what would it be?
- Where would you like to see the health care system five years from now?
The event is part of TMA's initiative titled Me and My Doctor: We Know Best, launched in Wichita Falls on May 6. For more information go to http://www.MeAndMyDoctor.com.
TMA is the largest state medical society in the nation, representing more than 43,000 physician and medical student members. It is located in Austin and has 120 component county medical societies around the state. TMA's key objective since 1853 is to improve the health of all Texans.
