The American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) is pleased to announce for the fourth year in a row, Charity Navigator, America's premier charity evaluator, selected AAKP to receive its coveted 4-star rating for sound fiscal management.

Charity Navigator highlights the work of the nation's charity organizations and provides donors with essential information needed to give them greater confidence in the charitable choices they make. According to Charity Navigator, only 6 percent of the organizations it's rated have received the prestigious 4-star rating in four consecutive years, indicating AAKP outperforms most charities in America in its efforts to operate in the most fiscally responsible way possible.

"This 'exceptional' designation from Charity Navigator differentiates the American Association of Kidney Patients from its peers and demonstrates to the public that it is worthy of their trust," said Michael Smith, Interim President/Chief Operating Officer of Charity Navigator, in a letter to AAKP.

"It is a privilege to do the work we do on behalf of kidney patients and their loved ones," stated Kris Robinson, AAKP Executive Director/CEO. "We know donors expect us to act fiscally responsibly with the money they gift to the organization and we take the work we do seriously."

AAKP is the nation's largest kidney patient organization founded and directed by patients. AAKP reaches one million people yearly including patients, family members, renal professionals and friends of the kidney community through its magazines, Web site, brochures and through its educational programs and events. It is the organization patients and renal professionals turn to for accurate and timely information on renal disease.
