American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Honors Members For Practice Excellence And Leadership

Twenty health-system pharmacists have been given the title "Fellow" by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) in recognition of the excellence they have achieved in pharmacy practice. The 2008 Fellows will be honored on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, during the ASHP Summer Meeting in Seattle.

The ASHP Practitioner Recognition Program recognizes excellence in practice and promotes public awareness of outstanding pharmacists. Each applicant's credentials are assessed against rigorous criteria that include contributions to the scientific literature, research, education and active involvement and leadership in professional activities. Applicants also must have practiced pharmacy for at least 10 years. Since the program began in 1988, 587 Fellows have been recognized. The 2008 Fellows are:

- Dennis G. Brierton, Pharm.D., BCPS, Aurora Health Care, Department of Pharmaceutical Services, Milwaukee;

- Brian D. Buck, Pharm.D., University of Georgia, College of Pharmacy, Athens, Ga.;

- Richard M. Cadle, Pharm.D., BCPS, Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Houston;

- Michele A. Danish, Pharm.D., St. Joseph Health Services, North Providence, R.I.;

- Mark Donaldson, Pharm.D., Kalispell Regional Medical Center, Kalispell, Mont.;

- Patricia Pecora Fulco, Pharm.D., BCPS, Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center, Medical College of Virginia Hospitals, Richmond, Va.;

- Mary M. Hess, Pharm.D., South Carolina College of Pharmacy, Columbia, SC;

- Jon D. Horton, Pharm.D., CACP, York Hospital, York, Pa.;

- William N. Jones, M.S., VA Pharmacy Benefits Management and Southwest VA CMOP, Tucson, Ariz.;
