Diabetes UK has won a top prize worth £150,000 by triumphing in the Everyclick.com Charity Challenge - with your help.
Everyclick.com is a search engine that gives money to charity every time you search. We raised the most money in our category during the three-month challenge by inspiring all staff and supporters to use Everyclick.
After heading our category we submitted the winning presentation to prove the varied and innovative ways we had used and promoted Everyclick as a great way to raise funds.
The prize
The prize is a major national outdoor advertising campaign on more than 1,500 sites across the UK.
Innovation
The 550 charities that entered were judged on how much they raised per supporter and the imaginative ways they encouraged the public to use the search engine.
What we did
During the three months, our activities included setting Everyclick as the default search engine for the whole charity, adding links to Everyclick in all Diabetes UK email footers and contacting our network of nearly 400 voluntary support groups to encourage them to adopt Everyclick.
The Diabetes UK website also promoted the search engine regularly on its homepage and across the site, as well as dedicating an entire page to Everyclick.
A big 'thank you'
"This is a huge achievement and we're delighted to have won the challenge," said Graeme Manuel, Website Manager at Diabetes UK.
"It's thanks to the efforts of the whole charity, our volunteers, supporters and other contacts. Special mention must go to Amanda Neylon for being the driving force behind this win for Diabetes UK."
