UK public health leader agrees to try to lose weight

UK Public health leader Peter Tiplady is leading the fight against obesity by example.
BMA (British Medical Association) committee for public health medicine and community health chairman Dr Tiplady has agreed to try to reduce his body mass index from an 'overweight' 30 to an 'ideal weight' 25, an estimated 15-20kg (3st or 42 pounds) by July next year.
He said: 'Doctors have a responsibility to show the way.'
And he has issued a challenge in BMA News for other doctors to join him.
