18 new research projects to receive Parkinson's Disease Society funding UK

The Parkinson's Disease Society (PDS) of the UK is delighted to announce that it has committed £1.65million to a total of eighteen new research projects for research into Parkinson's.
The eighteen new projects will explore the following areas:
-- Stem cells
-- Molecular Biology
-- Genetics
-- Pharmacology
-- Neurology
-- Surgery
-- Clinical Trials/Epidemiology
-- Clinical Psychology
-- Health/Social Care

Since the PDS was established in 1969, research into all aspects of Parkinson's has been a vital part of the Society's work. Through its research programme, the PDS invests around £2million each year into five key areas - Cause, Prevention, Cure, Progression and Care. The Society also supports the PDS Tissue Bank in London, which acts as a resource for researchers throughout the world.
