The use of VASER Lipo technology to improve surgical results in face and neck rejuvenation cases represents a major advance in the application of ultrasonic technology in cosmetic procedures. Now patients can have the result of a typical face or neck lift with less downtime and a more natural post-operative appearance.

Marlene Mash, MD, a board certified dermatologist and dermasurgeon, utilizes VASER Lipo in her office to perform a minimally invasive form of liposuction that liquefies the fat and sculpts targeted areas.

"I use VASER Lipo because I've found it creates less tissue trauma and bleeding than conventional techniques, regardless of body area," said Dr. Mash, who is in private practice in Plymouth Meeting, Pa. "VASER Lipo also helps tighten loose skin, which proves particularly helpful in conjunction with a traditional lower face and neck lift," she added.

Dr. Mash explained that she has begun using VASER Lipo (also known as LipoSelection®), in combination with face and neck lifts due to its unparalleled effectiveness in producing a natural and youthful appearance with minimal down time. "VASER Lipo significantly reduces the undermining time in lift procedures and allows me to contour body areas that are difficult to treat with traditional liposuction," noted Dr. Mash.

A three-millimeter incision is utilized to allow the VASER® probe to be inserted. The ultrasonic energy causes the small probe to vibrate and selectively liquefy the fatty tissue. With this technique, Dr. Mash is able to treat the underlying skin and tissues to encourage retraction and further tightening of the skin. The result is a gentle and less traumatic form of liposuction.

Dr. Mash is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, and the American Society of Liposuction Surgery. She received her medical degree from Temple University and has studied internationally to learn advanced techniques in liposuction, vein removal and laser surgery.
