The Care Events team at Diabetes UK is looking for healthcare professionals to volunteer on its holidays and weekends for people with diabetes.

If you have diabetes or an interest in diabetes and have the right skills and expertise that can be used on our events, we encourage you to apply.

300 volunteers each year

We recruit around 300 volunteer members of staff each year, including healthcare professionals and skilled helpers - Diabetes UK hopes that you will become one of them.

"The success of Diabetes UK's holidays and weekends owes a lot to the staff who have offered their skills, time and expertise voluntarily over the years," said Susie Reilly, Head of Care Events at Diabetes UK.

"Without the support of our amazing, dedicated and highly skilled HCP volunteers we would not be able to offer these life changing holidays to so many children and adults with diabetes."

Volunteers needed in Nottingham

We are particularly desperate to find two doctors for the Frontier Centre Holiday in Northampton from 16 to 23 August 2008 and for the Oasis Holiday in Nottingham from 23 to 29th August.

Best practice

Diabetes UK is committed to applying best practice with the care of children and young people on all events and needs individuals to volunteer for our events. We insist that all volunteer staff for our programme of children's events, attend a relevant form of training.

If you are interested, please download the covering letter and application form.

All the information about the holidays is available on the website.
