GTCbio just announced the 3rd edition of its Biomarker Series - the Biomarker Discovery Europe Conference - taking place on October 2-3, 2008 in Dublin, Ireland.

Over the last several years, biomarkers have been an increasingly important and a heavily researched topic at all of the leading pharmaceutical and biotech companies worldwide. There have been many new advancements in the technologies used to facilitate the discovery of novel biomarkers as well as many new developments in ways to utilize biomarkers. Biomarker Discovery Europe will provide attendees with updates on these new developments.

Biomarker Discovery Europe will create a forum whereby industry leaders from the US, Europe, and Asia can collaborate and explore some of the differences between the US and European R & D environment. New technologies used to expedite the discovery to validation process as well as the usage of biomarkers in clinical trial design will be highlighted. A unique look at the practical issues and concerns with the role of biomarkers in personalized medicine will also be addressed.

Keynote presenters include Mike Romanos, Vice President of Discovery Technologies, GlaxoSmithKline and Herbert Fritsche, Chief of Clinical Chemistry at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
