Macmillan Cancer Relief is calling on aspiring young artists to design a Christmas card for the charity and help raise vital funds for people living with cancer all over the UK.

Primary school children are invited to take part in the competition that will see the winning design produced and sold in Macmillan's Christmas Catalogue 2005. The winner's school will also receive a digital camera and photo printer.

Last year the Christmas Catalogue raised around £704,591 for Macmillan, the profit of which went directly towards funding an increasing range of services including Macmillan nurses and doctors, new cancer care centres, a range of cancer information and financial help to those who need it most.

Since every purchase from Macmillan's Christmas catalogue no matter how small will enable them to help more people living with cancer, proceeds made from the sale of the winning card will make a real difference. For the price of a pack of 10 Macmillan Christmas cards (£4) Macmillan can give 40 people a copy of their Cancer Guide, helping them to understand more about cancer, its treatment and help available.

To take part simply email designacard@macmillan.org.uk or call our Trading team on 020 7840 7840 for information on how to receive a registration pack.

To request a Christmas catalogue please contact our customer service team on 01227 811641 or visit our website on http://www.macmillan.org.uk/catalogue.
