LYDALL, INC. (NYSE: LDL) Charter Medical Ltd., a subsidiary of Lydall, Inc., has announced a breakthrough Bio-Container that utilizes an innovative new film technology. FREEZE-PAK™ Bio-Containers are designed for use in cryogenic temperature applications providing robust performance as low as -196°C and remain flexible in a frozen state.

FREEZE-PAK™ offers advantages over traditional Bio-Containers as it goes down to the lowest temperature range while also providing easy storage of materials in a pre-sterilized format. They are available in a range of configurations to fit a variety of freezing systems. FREEZE-PAK™ Bio-Containers are designed for maximum product recovery, constructed of animal derivative-free materials and conform to current industry standards.

According to Roberta Morris, Director of Marketing and New Product Development at Charter Medical, "Storage of cellular products is typically performed under cryogenic conditions, with the unique construction of FREEZE-PAK™ a much lower temperature range is achieved compared to typical Bio-Containers which are generally limited to -80°C."
