When the FDA's GMP rule becomes effective for your dietary supplement company, will your business be ready? It isn't a question to gamble on noncompliance can damage your operations and cripple your business. By June 25, 2010, all supplement manufacturers must be in compliance with the final U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) good manufacturing practices (GMP) rule published on June 25, 2007. Time is running short, but the Natural Products Association can help you prepare for the new rule with confidence.

The Natural Products Association, the voice of the natural foods industry for over 70 years, has partnered with Virgo Publishing to offer a one and half day educational seminar event to discuss the impact and provisions of the final rule. This important regulation establishes new mandatory requirements for dietary supplement manufacturers and dietary supplement distributors. Attendees will learn about what is expected and the consequences of non-compliance.

"An Advanced Course on the Final FDA GMP Rule for Dietary Supplements" will be offered during SupplySide West, a conference and trade show presented by Virgo Publishing, October 21, 2008, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., through October 22, 2008, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Venetian Resort and Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, Nev.

Seminar presenters include Carl Reynolds, vice president, EAS Consulting, Cindy Beehner, president, Quality Design Systems, Aaron Secrist, director of quality, Nature's Way, and Natural Products Association staff. Seminar presenters have over 75 years combined experience in addressing FDA regulations, especially in the area of good manufacturing practices and dietary supplements. Beehner and Reynolds have first-hand experience working with industry to meet the challenges of compliance to the laws and regulations related to dietary ingredients and dietary supplements and, Secrist will present an industry insider's perspective on meeting the requirements of the new rule.

"An Advanced Course on the Final FDA GMP Rule for Dietary Supplements" course is designed for companies with a good understanding of current industry GMPs and will be relevant for anyone whose job responsibility requires a comprehensive understanding of the FDA GMP rule for dietary supplements, including management, and regulatory affairs, QA/QC, production and laboratory personnel. Previous attendees called the course "…very informative" and said "the speakers truly care about company's concerns and compliance issues;" another attendee said he "…would recommend this course because of the depth of knowledge of the presenters and range of topics covered."

The Natural Products Association is the industry expert on GMP issues and compliance and has been offering comprehensive dietary supplement GMP training for over 10 years to more than 1,000 industry attendees around the United States.
