Abortion-rights opponent and Operation Rescue founder Randall Terry, who was arrested last week during the Democratic National Convention in Denver, said his group has no plans to be arrested during the Republican National Convention this week in St. Paul, Minn., the AP/St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Terry praised the selection of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) as the Republican Party's vice presidential candidate. Terry said Palin's nomination has "re-energized the pro-life movement," adding that the movement "gets to be born again."

Terry said group members in St. Paul will be calling on Roman Catholic bishops to tell their "flocks" not to vote for Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.), and group members will distribute anti-Obama pamphlets to Catholic parishioners throughout the week. Terry and a handful of antiabortion advocates gathered Tuesday on the steps of the city's Cathedral of St. Paul. According to Terry, Operation Rescue is coordinating sit-ins for late September at Obama campaign sites in swing states (Bakst, AP/St. Paul Pioneer Press, 9/2).

Diagnosing Vision Problems in Children

Children with vision problems are often misidentified as having learning disabilities, especially since the kids themselves may not be aware there's a problem with their sight. But parents should look for warning signs of vision trouble.
