The Haematology programme from Randox International Quality Assessment Scheme (RIQAS) offers quick and easy quality control analysis for eight analytes.

RIQAS is the largest international quality assessment scheme with over 8,100 participants in 80 countries worldwide. With RIQAS, a laboratory can assess their analytical performance and compare to other laboratories using the same methods and instruments. RIQAS aims to improve inter-laboratory comparability, resulting in increased quality of diagnostic testing.

The RIQAS Haematology programme currently has over 2,000 participants to ensure statistical validity of your results. Liquid stable whole blood samples are supplied every three months and are analysed on a bi-weekly basis. Eight parameters are included in the programme - haematocrit (HCT), haemoglobin (Hb), mean cell haemoglobin (MCH), mean cell haemoglobin concentration (MCHC), mean cell volume (MCV), platelets (PLT), red blood cell count (RBC), and total white blood cell count (WBC), thus covering all required haematology analytes in one sample.

As a result of feedback from RIQAS Haematology programme participants, samples are now supplied in 2ml primary tubes and can be placed directly onto your haematology analyser. No more de-capping or decanting of whole blood, reducing sample handling and preparation time and improving overall laboratory safety. This has proved successful and very popular amongst laboratories.

By participating in the RIQAS Haematology programme, you can improve the quality of your testing, save on time and labour and improve the safety of your laboratory.
