One thousand registered nurses from the California Nurses Association and National Nurses Organizing Committee (CNA/NNOC) will march the "Bridge to Healthcare" this Friday Sept. 26 at 12 noon, crossing the Golden Gate Bridge en route to a 2:30 p.m. Crissy Field rally demanding guaranteed healthcare for every American.
The nurses support HR 676, U.S. Rep. John Conyers' United States Health Insurance Act, which would guarantee comprehensive, quality health care for every American through a system like an expanded and improved Medicare for All. Such "single-payer" systems are flourishing in nearly every other industrialized democracy…while every year 101,000 Americans lose their lives prematurely because of the failings of our healthcare system.
