Drexel University Online is increasing its range of prestigious online healthcare programs with the addition of the Post-Master's Certificate in Medical Family Therapy. This 14 credit certificate is offered fully online.

The certificate program is designed to introduce currently practicing health care professionals to the ways medical illnesses are influenced by external conditions and environments. Additionally, professionals trained in medical family therapy will learn to bridge gaps in the health care systems and provide comprehensive family focused services that take varying cultural experiences into account. The Post-Master's Certificate in Medical Family Therapy is for couple and family therapists, graduate students in couple and family therapy, clergy, physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals seeking to expand their knowledge about families, illness and collaborative practice.
"After completing this fully online certificate program, graduates will be able to evaluate the role of family members in promoting positive health outcomes," said Dr. Marlene F. Watson, Director of Programs in Couple and Family Therapy at Drexel University. "They will also be able to assess the impact of healthcare problems on the family system, develop effective relationships and intervention strategies with families, produce best practice approaches to health care, analyze health care policies, and demonstrate professional awareness in the health care delivery process." The Post-Master's Certificate in Medical Family Therapy is offered fully online for the convenience of practicing healthcare workers.

"We're very proud to offer our students the outstanding Drexel curriculum within this convenient online format," said Dr. Kenneth Hartman, Academic Director at Drexel University Online. "All of our online programs -- including the Post-Master's Certificate in Medical Family Therapy -- are taught by the same renowned faculty as our campus courses."

Applications for Drexel's online Post-Master's Certificate in Medical Family Therapy are now being accepted for the winter term beginning in January 2009. For more information about this online program, visit Drexel's online degree website, e-mail info@drexel.com or call (877) 215-0009.
