Politics Of Health Care Explored In New Issue Of Stanford Medicine Magazine

Illustrator Barry Blitt does it again… and again. Blitt, who drew so much attention in July for his satirical and controversial New Yorker cover illustration of Barack and Michelle Obama, created the cover for the new issue of Stanford Medicine magazine on politics and health care. The illustration depicts a female patient looking up at presidential nominees Barack Obama and John McCain standing at her bedside in physician's garb. Her skeptical look says: "Show me. What are you going to do on health-care reform?"

In fact, Blitt actually created two covers. Because the magazine's cover flap obscures the face of the candidate on the left, the magazine's editors decided to print two covers-half of the magazine's run has Obama on the left and the other half has McCain there.
