The Institute for International Research is pleased to announce a featured presentation by Leonard Sacks, Deputy Director of the Office of Critical Path Programs from the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) at the 7th annual Clinical Trials Congress (CTC).

Dr. Sacks will illuminate how key stakeholders in public health and drug development should be forming partnerships with the FDA to advance the critical path to drug development. Dr. Sacks will then be available for one-on-one meetings and book signing with attendees. Joining him at CTC will be several other industry change-makers, never before together in the same room:

- Former CEO of Merck, Roy Vagelos, will look back to the "Golden Age of Pharma" to outline lessons learned and keys to success during his 10 years as CEO.

- Jay Siegel, Group President for Johnson & Johnson R&D will join fellow Clinical Trial Transformation Initiative committee members to re-think the current conduct of U.S. based clinical trials.

- Esquire magazine 2005 "Exec of the Year" Victoria Hale, the Founder of The Institute for OneWorld Health, will discuss how her not-for-profit business model is creating medicines that the developing world desperately needs.

- The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is the nation's first and largest children's hospital, with over 17,000 patients admitted annually. Dr. Steven Altschuler, President & CEO of CHOP, will outline how he created a mission-driven organization with the goal of keeping the patient at the heart of the business.

- SVPs of Global Clinical Operations at Merck Serono International, Pfizer Global R&D, and BMS will highlight whey Pharma/Biotech partnering has emerged as a potential solution to re-write the rules for R&D innovation.
