In response to the published findings from the Ofsted report on Haringey, Shaun Kelly, Head of Safeguarding at Action for Children, says:
"Sadly, as the recent tragic case has highlighted, there are lessons still to be learnt on how to protect children from harm.
"In order to better help those working to identify vulnerable and at risk children, current good practices need to be strengthened and staff need the appropriate training, support and management when making complex and difficult decisions.
"Let's take this opportunity to look at how we can improve current practice to meet children's needs and avoid any pressure to opt for knee-jerk changes in legislation."
