Main Category: Medical Devices / DiagnosticsArticle Date: 18 Dec 2008 - 2:00 PDT
Olympus Life Science Europa is proud to announce that the Olympus AU680 clinical chemistry analyser has been awarded a Japanese Good Design Award 2008 in the Society/Medical and Welfare Equipment and Facilities category.
The Good Design Awards are Japan's comprehensive design evaluation and commendation system, largely focusing on industrial products but also including products from a wide variety of fields such as architecture, the environment and communication. The Awards are judged from the direct perspective of the people who would use the products and services under consideration.
The Good Design Awards judges selected the Olympus AU680 from over 3000 entries as an excellent template for the design of future analysers to help medium to high throughput laboratories meet ever increasing pressures on time and productivity. In addition to its modern looks and easy to use Graphical User Interface, the analyser is carefully designed to enable easy reagent handling and single handed operation.
"As one of six Olympus products to receive a Good Design Award, the AU680 demonstrates the same flexibility and user friendly values that are core to the design of all Olympus products," comments Mr Masayuki Nakai, Global Product Manager for Lab Automation at Olympus. "We are extremely proud of the design recognition the AU680 has received through this Good Design Award 2008."
Notes
The "Good Design Award" is Japan's only comprehensive design evaluation and commendation system. This system itself has its origins in the "Good Design Selection System" (generally known as the "G-Mark System") instituted by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry in 1957.
