Symyx Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMMX) has announced the release of Symyx Assay Explorer(R) 3.2. Assay Explorer is a biological information management system that enables scientists to capture experimental data and methodologies into a central repository where they are rapidly and easily accessible for improved querying, collaboration, and decision making.

"Symyx Assay Explorer 3.2 lets biologists capture and view experiments using familiar, easily shareable Excel spreadsheets while storing results in a central repository that is fully searchable across all experiments," said Dr. Trevor Heritage, president of Symyx Software. "Assay Explorer's flexible reporting and display functionality, including chemical structures, bar charts, histograms, dose-response curves, and scattergrams, helps scientists collaborate more effectively with team members and make better-informed decisions."

As part of a complete biology workflow solution, Symyx Assay Explorer 3.2 improves experiment searching and data display by offering new capabilities to:

-- Query data across experiments and search for specific variables within experiments

-- Analyze time series and dose response curves

-- Report curves and data together in Microsoft(R) Excel(R) spreadsheets

-- Apply new experiment templates for rapidly initiating workflows out-of- the-box

Assay Explorer 3.2 updates the Symyx Select suite of integrated software applications and content supporting effective data capture and analysis for project teams working in chemistry and biology R&D. The customizable software suite enables scientists to design, execute, analyze and report experimental results faster, easier, and less expensively. Symyx Select includes Symyx Assay Explorer, Symyx Notebook, Symyx Registration, Symyx Plate Manager, the Symyx Isentris system for searching, browsing, organizing, and reporting information, and a range of databases providing chemical sourcing, synthesis, and biological/physical property information.

Symyx Assay Explorer 3.2 supports Microsoft Windows XP SP2, XP SP3, Vista SP1 and Office 2007 SP1.

Symyx Assay Explorer 3.2 is available now. For more information, contact inforequest@symyx.com.
