The Kellogg company has voluntarily recalled some Austin® and Keebler® branded Peanut Butter Sandwich Crackers as well as some snack-sized packs of Famous Amos® Peanut Butter Cookies and Keebler® Soft Batch Homestyle Peanut Butter Cookies. The company says it is doing this to protect the public from potential Salmonella infections. Kellogg stresses no other products are being recalled.

While the Peanut Corporation of America (PCA) was being investigated by authorities for possible Salmonella contamination, Kellogg issued a precautionary hold on the sandwich crackers. PCA is a supplier to Kellogg. Kellogg informs that PCA has now widened its recall to include peanut paste and peanut butter.

David Mackay, President/CEO, Kellogg Company, said “The actions we are taking today are in keeping with our more than 100- year commitment to providing consumers with safe, high-quality products. We apologize for this unfortunate situation.”

The Kellogg Company urges consumers to destroy the recalled products. If you have any questions, or would like to request a refund you should contact the Kellogg Consumer Response Center at 877-869-5633. The company says that any questions regarding health should be addressed to your doctor.
