ICON plc (NASDAQ: ICLR; ISIN:IE0005711209), a global provider of outsourced development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries, today announced that it has been named "Research Company of the year" at the annual PharmaTimes awards. This accolade was based on the combined success of ICON teams and individuals who won multiple awards. ICON Clinical Research won gold, silver and bronze in both the Clinical Research Team of the Year and Clinical Research Associate of the Year categories. In addition to this recognition, ICON also received a bronze award in the Project Management category.
The PharmaTimes awards, which were announced at a ceremony in London on Thursday, 15th January, recognise and reward excellence in pharmaceutical clinical development. In total, ICON had over thirty staff short-listed as finalists across different categories, the highest number from any organisation.
Alan Morgan, Chief Operating Officer, ICON Clinical Research, commented: "We are delighted with our success at the PharmaTimes awards, as it recognises the outstanding contribution that our people have made to the overall success of the organisation. ICON has established itself as a global service provider with an excellent level reputation for quality and service, which is down to the effort of our staff.
