Our experience shows that having a disability makes you more likely to be isolated from society - and much more so if you are visually impaired.
The good news is that getting a guide dog has a tremendous effect on the confidence, independence and well-being of blind and partially sighted people.
So the researchers from the American Association for the Advancement of Science might like to look at the healing effects that a four legged companion can bring to the stressed and depressed.
