ADAO Praises Senate For Passage Of Fifth Annual Resolution That Establishes "National Asbestos Awareness Week"

The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO), the leading organization serving as the voice of asbestos victims, celebrates the passage of S.RES.57, a resolution that declares the first week of April as "National Asbestos Awareness Week" and urges the Surgeon General to warn and educate Americans on the severe hazards of asbestos exposure.

ADAO praises Senator Max Baucus (D-MT) for his work in introducing the important resolution. Additional cosponsors and key supporters of S.RES.57 include: Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Senator Richard Durbin (D-IL), Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Senator Johnny Isakson (R-GA), Senator Edward Kennedy (D-MA), Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), Senator Harry Reid (D-NV), and Senator Jon Tester (D-MT).

"We are grateful to the U.S. Senate to have the opportunity to work with doctors, scientists and public health advocates during National Asbestos Awareness Week to raise awareness and prevent asbestos exposure. During the past five years, ADAO has seen the progress and indeed, this confirms what Americans deserve and want, we know asbestos prevention and education will save lives and dollars," said Linda Reinstein, Executive Director and Co-Founder of the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization.

ADAO will hold its fifth annual Asbestos Awareness Conference and Remembrance Brunch at Marriott Manhattan Beach on March 27-29 in Manhattan Beach, California in recognition of National Asbestos Awareness Week.
