NI Medicine Supply Problems - Reporting Via NPA/UCA
Main Category: Pharmacy / PharmacistArticle Date: 12 Mar 2009 - 7:00 PDT
Community pharmacists in Northern Ireland can now report information about problems experienced in obtaining stocks of branded medicines. A form has been uploaded onto http://www.npa.co.uk for this feedback.
The NPA and UCA will work together to ensure this information is collated and fed into the Department of Health as evidence of the ongoing supply problems being reported by pharmacy contractors.
Anne McAlister, Head of Professional Services NI said: "To be instrumental in improving situations for our members, it is vital that the NPA and UCA have evidence to demonstrate our members' concerns. I would ask all members who are facing problems in obtaining medicine supplies to make submitting the feedback a priority. It will only take a few moments and the information will be used promptly to relay issues to the Department and relevant wholesalers and manufacturers."
