Wiley-Blackwell, the scientific, technical, medical and scholarly publishing business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc (NYSE: JWa), (NYSE: JWb), has expanded its journal publishing program in dentistry. The leading society publisher will be publishing its latest journal, the Journal of Investigative and Clinical Dentistry (JICD), from August 2010. Its editorial board has already begun accepting author contributions.

An international journal from Asia Pacific, the Journal of Investigative and Clinical Dentistry will be dedicated to the rapid dissemination and knowledge transfer of cutting edge science on all aspects of oral and maxillofacial sciences. The editorial board seeks to develop JCID into a premier research journal in dentistry from the Asia Pacific region and beyond - and to make significant contributions to the community of practitioners and researchers in this field.

JCID's Editor-in-chief Professor Lakshman Samaranayake, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry in Hong Kong University, has assembled a highly respected team of 15 associate editors covering all aspects of dental research. He said, "I am very pleased that an international publisher of Wiley-Blackwell's renown has embraced this vision to launch a premier dentistry journal from Asia Pacific. We look forward to leveraging on their publishing expertise in this area, and to working with them to make this vision come into fruition."

Authors will benefit from rapid peer review and online publication. Not only will publication charges in the journal be waived, users will also be able to register for free access to the journal from August 2010 right up to December 2011.

Anthony Watkinson, leader of Wiley-Blackwell's global dentistry program added, "We are delighted to be creating this opportunity for Asia Pacific researchers to showcase their work to an international audience. Researchers in Asia Pacific often encounter roadblocks when it comes to being published in leading journals. JICD now gives authors another avenue to increase their profile internationally."

Wiley-Blackwell is the leading international publisher in dental research, with 27 journals. It also has more ISI-listed journals, and more journals ranked in the top 20 than any other publisher.
