A series of cases with commentaries by the American College of Physicians (ACP) Ethics, Professionalism and Human Rights Committee and the College's Center for Ethics and Professionalism are now available on MedscapeCME.
"The ethical dilemmas presented are very relevant to daily practice," said Joseph W. Stubbs, MD, FACP, ACP President. "Learning from case studies can help physicians apply ethical principles in difficult situations they might encounter."
The ACP Ethics Case Studies -- which offer continuing medical education (CME) credit -- uses hypothetical examples to elaborate on controversial or subtle aspects of issues not addressed in detail in ACP's Ethics Manual, the Physician Charter on Professionalism, and other ACP position statements (click here).
"We are extremely excited about working with Medscape to bring important ethics and professionalism debates and educational content to a wide audience," said Lois Snyder, JD, Director of the ACP Center for Ethics and Professionalism.
Added Carol Peckham, Director of Editorial Development at Medscape, "These cases are important contributions to Medscape's educational initiatives, which are intended to address not only clinical gaps in knowledge but professional ones as well."
