Sandra James Re-elected As Royal College of Nursing Chair Of Council, UK

Sandra James has been re-elected as RCN Chair of Council, which represents almost 400,000 nurses and healthcare assistants across the UK, for a further two year term.
Sandra is one of a number of Council Members who have been elected unopposed by RCN Council members to take up key Council officer roles following the RCN Annual General Meeting on 28 October 2009.
Sandra is a project lead for safeguarding vulnerable adults. She has been a committed RCN activist for the last 30 years and has been Chair of Council since 2005.
Further members of Council who have been elected unopposed to take up key roles are:
- Vice Chair of Council: Gerry Bolger
- Honorary Treasurer: Stacey Hunter
- Chair of Nursing Practice and Policy Committee: Andrea Spyropoulos
- Chair of Governance Support Committee: Jenny Booth
Sandra James said: "I am delighted to have the opportunity to carry on as Chair of the RCN Council. I look forward to working with the committed individuals that form the Council to continue to help shape the direction of nursing on behalf of our members."
The role of Chair of the Membership and Representation Committee is still to be elected. Further appointments to the other committees which support Council will be also announced shortly.
