The Australian Psychological Society (APS), on behalf of the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing, is administering scholarships up to $15,000 per annum to students who will be applying to study or continuing to undertake an APAC-accredited Masters or Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology in 2010.

The Mental Health Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme (MHPSS) is an initiative aimed at supporting postgraduate students to meet their accommodation, living and travel costs while at university.

This scholarship program will continue to offer scholarships to students who have a rural, regional or remote residency, an Indigenous and/or Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) background, and/or are students who have demonstrated a commitment to working with one or more of these groups. This initiative will make a significant impact on the number of psychologists working in these areas of need.

Applications for the current round of Clinical Psychology Mental Health Postgraduate Scholarships will be received by the APS until 23 October 2009. Application kits are available from the APS website http://www.psychology.org.au/academic/scholarships/mhpss/ or by phoning 1800 703 833 during business hours.
