Doctor of the Heart: My Life in Medicine is the autobiography of Isadore Rosenfeld, MD, world-renowned cardiologist, best-selling author, and popular television commentator. Published by Mary Ann Liebert, Inc., Dr. Rosenfeld's book is a remarkable account of his long and extraordinary career (http://www.liebertpub.com/heart).

Dr. Rosenfeld is often referred to as "America's Doctor." "Through his works on health, which have been translated for worldwide audiences, and his foundation, which supports research internationally, Iz Rosenfeld has helped to improve the quality of life for millions of people across the globe," said former President Bill Clinton.

"Isadore Rosenfeld is a brilliant story-teller," said Richard Holbrooke, United States Special Envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan and Former Assistant Secretary of State. "His long-awaited memoir is a remarkable insight into the world of a great physician, filled with humor and pathos, and always the deep humanity of its author."

Told with grace and humor, Doctor of the Heart is "a wonderful autobiography about the dreams, the trials, and the triumphs of one man whose fidelity to the Hippocratic Oath shines as a beacon to health professionals and patients alike," said Richard I. Levin, MD, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, McGill University.

Passionate about empowering patients to be proactive about their health, Dr. Rosenfeld has written more than a dozen best selling books for the layperson. Dr. Rosenfeld is the host of "Sunday Housecall" on Fox News Network (FNN) every Sunday morning (10:30 a.m. EST).

"This remarkable memoir captures an extraordinary career in medicine," says Mary Ann Liebert, president of Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. "Inspired at an early age to become a physician, Isadore Rosenfeld shares a lifetime of challenges, advances in patient care, and unique experiences that enrich his life personally as well as professionally."

Dr. Rosenfeld is an attending physician at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and the Rossi Distinguished Professor of Clinical Medicine at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, and he maintains a private practice in New York City. He has served as president of the New York County Medical Society, a member of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Practicing Physicians Advisory Council, and as a consultant to the National Institutes of Health, appointed by President George W. Bush. His many honors include being named the United Nations Citizen of the World in 1999 and the recipient of the first Award for Achievement in Cardiovascular Medicine and Science by the New York affiliate of the American Heart Association.
