Kaiser Health News staff writer Phil Galewitz reports on how some seniors would be shielded from planned cuts to the Medicare Advantage program currently included in the Senate Finance Committee's health overhaul legislation. "The committee would cut $117 billion from the so-called Medicare Advantage plans over a decade, shifting $10 billion dollars of that amount to temporarily protect beneficiaries in parts of 13 states and reward high-quality plans" (10/22).
