Main Category: Aid / DisastersArticle Date: 28 Oct 2009 - 1:00 PDT
The American Red Cross today announced that through a new collaboration with Amazon Payments, people will be able to make charitable donations to the Red Cross through the Amazon Payments program.
Through the Holiday Giving with Amazon Payments program, Amazon customers can make donations to the American Red Cross and several other charities quickly and securely using their Amazon account username, password, and pre-established payment preferences stored in their Amazon accounts. The program makes it just as easy for people to donate to their favorite charity as it is to shop on Amazon.
"When emergencies strike, whether it affects your neighbor next door or someone halfway around the world, people want to quickly put their need to give into action to help people in crisis," said Jeff Towers, chief development officer of the American Red Cross. "A simple and efficient way to help people through the Red Cross is by making an online donation, and Amazon Payments empowers our donors with a convenient way to channel their compassion and make donations online quickly and easily."
Amazon customers can visit http://www.amazon.com/holidaygiving from now through January 10, 2009 to learn more about Holiday Giving with Amazon Payments.
