Over 1,000 Get Serious In First Week, Diabetes UK
Main Category: DiabetesArticle Date: 03 Nov 2009 - 0:00 PST
By the end of the first week of the Get Serious campaign, more than 1,000 people had logged on, signed up and made pledges for Diabetes UK.
In making diabetes a priority, our supporters are starting to help us raise the profile of how serious diabetes is and how, as one collective voice, we can fight the UK's biggest health challenge.
Community grows
The Get Serious community continues to grow each day along with the variety of pledges. From mountain climbing, creating a sports club and encouraging families to eat better, organising an awareness event and learning to salsa dance, the pledges have started to be made.

Amazing
"Having so many people join up in the first week has been amazing," said Paul McDonald, Head of Media at Diabetes UK.
Sign up, and encourage friends and family too
"Let's keep the pressure up and get as many people as possible to support the campaign. If you've already signed up, please encourage your friends and family to sign up too. Perhaps you could pledge to do something as a group? Whatever you do - get involved."
