The American Medical Student Association (AMSA) continues to support a federally administered, publically funded, privately delivered system of single-payer health care as the best solution to our health care crisis. AMSA will stand behind efforts that further the single payer movement, in addition to other provisions in current health care reform legislation that expand access.
"We look forward to continued progress in the movement toward a single-payer health care system," says Elizabeth Wiley, second year medical student at The George Washington University and AMSA Policy Coordinator, "whether as part of the current reform debate or through continued advocacy beyond this moment."
