World's First Retinol-contaning Nanocapsule - Rohto Pharmaceutical, LTT Bio-Pharma

Tokyo (JCNN) - Rohto Pharmaceutical (TSE: 4527) announced on April 6 that, in collaboration with LTT Bio-Pharma, a Tokyo-based bio venture, the company has successfully developed the world's first nanocapsule that has contained retinol.
The capsule is 100nm in diameter and is made of calcium carbonate.
The two companies have confined retinol within the capsule and then stabilized it using LTT Bio-Pharama's proprietary agent.
By gradually releasing retinol, the nanocapsule can directly affect the causes of wrinkles and eliminate them.
Rohto plans to apply the nanocapsule to its skin care product series including Obagi.
