The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as well as Centers for Disease Control (CDC) informed Mead Johnson Nutrition that health inspectors have finalized their examination on all formula samples obtained from the organization. According to test results, the products were safe and no presence of Cronobacter was detected. These results are consistent with two examinations carried out by Mead Johnson.

The company has been notified that all samples obtained – and related to health studies in Illinois and Missouri – are safe. Mead Johnson highlights that these are the only incidents that led to their products being inspected.

Enfamil PREMIUM® Newborn, as well as all Mead Johnson infant formulas, go through around 2,300 quality checks and safety examinations in order to make sure they meet the company’s’ own strict standards or exceed them, in addition to standards set by the FDA, the World Health Organization and other regulatory bodies prior to retail.

Tim Brown, senior vice president and general manager for North America, explained:

“We’re pleased with the FDA and CDC testing, which should reassure consumers, healthcare professionals and retailers everywhere about the safety and quality of our products.

These tests also reinforce the rigor of our quality processes throughout our operations. We remain committed to our mission to nourish the world’s children for the best start in life.”

Mead Johnson explained:

“as a result of the FDA and CDC tests – as well as our own – parents can continue using Enfamil and other Mead Johnson products with confidence.”
