Fifth Human Bird Flu Death In Egypt

Egypt's Health Ministry has confirmed that a 27-year-old woman from Cairo has died as a result of H5N1 avian flu virus strain infection. The woman was hospitalised on May 1st and died on May 4th.
The woman had been in contact with sick birds during a recent visit to the Minufiyah governorate. She stayed in a house where several infected chickens had been slaughtered.
Of the 13 human cases in Egypt so far, 5 have died.
