According to many recent studies, the occasional glass of red wine can protect you from cancer and heart disease.
In fact, some hospitals in the UK prescribe red wine for heart attack patients.
The new pill will have all the ingredients (healthy ones) of red wine, but not the alcohol.
The researchers said that they can freeze-dry the ingredients and produce a pill. The researchers work at the Pavese Pharma Biochemical Institute, Pavia, Italy.
'Freeze-drying and compacting the mix leaves a tablet with all the benefits of a glass of wine, say the inventors,' the New Scientist magazine reports.
Experts say that one glass of red wine a day can be good for you and protect you from heart disease. The pill would be ideal for people who want the beneficial ingredients but do not want to consume the alcohol.
