Apparently, the disease has affected millions of chickens in Indonesia. There have been no human cases so far (in Indonesia).

Although Indonesian officials had denied the presence of Bird Flu (Avian Flu), the country's Veterinarian Association has announced that several million chickens have died (of Bird Flu) over the last few months.

Countries affected by the current Bird Flu are:

Thailand
Vietnam
Cambodia
S Korea
Japan
Taiwan
Indonesia
Vietnam has killed more than 3 million chickens, Thailand has killed about 9 million.

Humans who have caught the bird flu virus seem to be resistant to amantadine and rimantadine (the cheaper drugs used to treat human flu).
