The 2007 Career opportunities in UK dentistry event will take place on Friday 9 February at the Hotel Russell in London's Russell Square. The Hotel Russell is a new venue for the event, which is organised jointly by the British Dental Association and UCL Eastman Dental Institute.
The 2007 event will see a wide range of speakers give delegates insights into the whole spectrum of dental careers, from specialist private practice to careers in the armed forces. The programme will also include speakers detailing options for further study, both in the UK and overseas. Speakers include Nick Lewis, Specialist Registrar in Restorative Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Hospital, Damien Walmsley, Professor of Restorative Dentistry at Birmingham Dental School, Luke Wordley, Chief Executive of Dentaid, trainee orthodontist Angus Pringle, and Walter Reid of Integrated Dental Holdings.
The event will also give delegates the opportunity to quiz Chief Dental Officer for England, Barry Cockcroft, and Lester Ellman, Chair of the British Dental Association's General Dental Practice Committee. The two men open the day with their view of where general dental practice is now and where it's headed in the future, before the floor is thrown open to questioners.
For further details of the event, including a brochure, contact the BDA's events team by email at events@bda.org or by telephone on 020 7563 4590. To book a place, contact Karen Rhatigan at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute by email at k.rhatigan@eastman.ucl.ac.uk or by telephone on 020 7905 1244.
